Ghys and De Ketele retain lead after fourth night

Robbe Ghys and Kenny De Ketele have held on to their lead at the Lotto
Six Days of Flanders-Ghent on the fourth night of action. Four duos
remain on the lead lap after an exciting night in Ghent.

Friday night’s madison was held in honour of Six Days legend Patrick
Sercu. Mark Cavendish and Iljo Keisse won the 60-minute race to boost
their overall chances, while De Ketele-Ghys remained in the lead
halfway through the night.

Earlier on young Dane Frederiksen took another win on the lone-lap
time-trial. Moreno de Pauw, who is saying goodbye to the sport after
this event, won his first 500m time-trial in this year’s edition to
the joy of his fans. Jasper de Buyst was the fastest in the first
points race and the supersprint. The night ended after an exciting
derny final, in which Robbe Ghys proved the strongest.

Ghys and De Ketele retain their lead after four nights at the 79th
edition of the Lotto Six Days of Flanders-Ghent with 197 points. Three
chasing teams remain on the lead lap: De Buyst/Van der Sande (184
points), Keisse/Cavendish (172 points) and Kluge/Reinhardt (121
points).

In the women’s event Shari Bossuyt took an emotional win in the points
race. The 19-year-old held off Lotte Kopecky and Jolien D’Hoore.
